Tubi has been on the lower end of streaming services for years. They do feature quality programming and cater to minorities. I interviewed Simone Winn a while back and she has a movie on Tubi.
The movie Simone was in wasn’t like some of these movies that are Tubi originals.
Just in case you haven’t seen some of these movies, they aren’t the best written, unknown actors and actresses and are basically X-rated. There are full frontal sex scenes scattered throughout the film. You may want to watch at night when the children are in bed.
It’s very stereotypical and low rate, similar to how BET had gotten for a period. It’s like BET took Baby Boy out of the VCR and Tubi put it into theirs.
I do see a lot of folks addicted to Tubi movies and for free entertainment until football starts, it’s not the worse thing to be watching nor doing.
It’s getting too hot to be out for too long when water isn’t involved so I wouldn’t say stop watching Tubi originals. Now if they charge, don’t watch until there’s more of a balance of Black/minority excellence and their “originals”.
